Indonesia has strengthened efforts to prevent and address sexual violence in educational settings through the adoption of Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (MoECRT) Regulation No. 30/2021 on sexual violence prevention and response in higher education, and Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Regulation No. 73/2022 on sexual violence prevention in educational units under its mandate. Both regulations define 16 forms of sexual violence and set out protocols for reporting, case handling, and sanctions for noncompliant institutions.
